One-Year-Old Scalded on Bihar Train After Broken Disposable Glass Burst

A one‑year‑old child suffered a foot burn when a disposable glass, handed by a train service attendant, shattered after hot water was poured into it, according to the family.
A passenger train travelling through Bihar became the scene of a painful accident when a disposable glass provided by a service attendant broke as soon as hot water was poured into it. The shattered glass released scalding water onto the lap of a one‑year‑old child seated with his mother.
The child's family alleges that the attendant handed them a thin, single‑use glass cup that was already compromised. When the mother filled it with hot water for the infant, the cup cracked, and the boiling liquid splashed directly onto the child's foot, causing a burn.
Medical staff at the nearest railway medical unit attended to the child, treating the burn and stabilising his condition before transferring him to a hospital for further care. The family is seeking an explanation from railway officials regarding the safety of disposable items served on board.
