A 45‑year‑old woman from Mubarakpur village in Shivpuri died shortly after receiving a second rabies dose following a jack‑al attack.
A 45-year-old resident of Mubarakpur village in Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, was attacked by a jackal, sustaining injuries that required rabies prophylaxis.
After the first anti‑rabies vaccine dose, she was given the second dose, but her condition deteriorated within minutes of the injection.
While being transferred to a medical college for further treatment, she collapsed and was pronounced dead. The Shivpuri health department has ordered a post‑mortem and will test the vaccine and biological samples.
Authorities have urged locals to avoid contact with wild animals and to report any attacks promptly.
