Odisha is expected to see a break in its prolonged dry spell with isolated showers and a slight drop in temperatures, while lightning warnings are issued for the week.
Odisha’s weather services have announced that the long‑standing dry spell is set to ease this week. Meteorological reports indicate that isolated rain showers are likely to touch down across various districts, providing much‑needed relief to farmers and residents.
Alongside the expected rainfall, a slight cooling trend is forecasted, with temperatures dropping modestly compared to the previous days of heat. This change is expected to bring a welcome respite to the hot and arid conditions that have prevailed.
However, the weather department has also issued lightning warnings for the region. Residents are advised to stay indoors during thunderstorms and to avoid open areas to reduce the risk of lightning strikes.
The combination of rain, cooling, and lightning alerts underscores the need for vigilance as Odisha transitions from a dry period to a more variable weather pattern.
