Odisha’s higher‑education institutions are witnessing a surge of activity as student unions gear up for the 2026 elections. Across campuses, candidates have launched debate forums, policy discussions and public rallies to win the support of their peers.
The contests are marked by vigorous campaigning, with student leaders touring hostels, holding interactive sessions and distributing campaign material. The atmosphere is competitive yet spirited, reflecting the growing importance of student representation.
Election officials have issued guidelines to ensure a transparent process, while student bodies emphasize the need for fair play and inclusivity. The outcome will shape campus governance for the next academic year.
Observers note that the heightened engagement signals a broader trend of political awareness among young Indians, especially in state universities.
The polls are scheduled to take place in late 2026, with results expected to be announced shortly thereafter.
