New Zealand Cricket has named a 15‑member One‑Day International squad for the upcoming series in India, with Tom Santner appointed captain and the return of bowlers Will Allen and Tim Ferguson.
New Zealand Cricket released its One‑Day International squad for the forthcoming series in India, confirming a 15‑player group led by Tom Santner. Santner, a seasoned all‑rounder, has been handed the captaincy for the limited‑overs fixtures.
The selection sees the return of fast‑bowling duo Will Allen and Tim Ferguson, who missed the last few international outings due to injury. Both bowlers are expected to bolster New Zealand’s pace attack and provide additional options in the middle overs.
The board highlighted that the squad balances experience with emerging talent, aiming to compete strongly on Indian soil. Preparations are underway as the team gears up for the series, which will be contested later this year in various Indian venues.
Cricket analysts note that the inclusion of Allen and Ferguson adds depth to the bowling lineup, while Santner’s leadership will be crucial in navigating the challenges of sub‑continental conditions.
