India has begun constructing the Huri‑Taksing road in Arunachal Pradesh, creating a second strategic corridor close to the Line of Actual Control.

The Ministry of Defence has announced the initiation of a new road linking Huri and Taksing in Arunachal Pradesh. The stretch, known as the Huri‑Taksing road, is being built to improve all‑weather connectivity in a remote sector of the state.

Strategically, the route will serve as India’s second axis to a frontier that lies only a few kilometres from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. By providing an alternative logistical channel, the road is expected to enhance the rapid deployment of troops and equipment along the border.

Officials say the project will also benefit local communities by facilitating civilian movement and economic activity, while reinforcing India’s defensive posture in the high‑altitude region.
