The Nepali government has announced a reshuffle of its diplomatic corps, proposing fresh envoys to India, China and the United States.

Kathmandu – Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has put forward a slate of new ambassadors for three of its most important bilateral partners: India, China and the United States. The proposal is part of a broader diplomatic overhaul aimed at refreshing the country's overseas representation.

According to the ministry's statement, the new appointments will replace incumbent envoys whose tenures are ending this year. The reshuffle is intended to align Nepal's foreign policy priorities with evolving regional dynamics and to deepen engagement with its neighbours and key global powers.

The foreign ministry said the selected candidates possess extensive diplomatic experience and will be tasked with advancing Nepal's economic, security and cultural interests abroad. Formal approvals from the host countries are pending, after which the ambassadors will present their credentials.

The move comes amid heightened attention on Nepal's foreign relations, as the landlocked nation seeks to balance ties with India and China while expanding cooperation with the United States on trade, infrastructure and climate initiatives.
