The sequel 'Mookuthi Amman 2' opened with modest earnings, marking actress Nayanthara’s second‑lowest debut among five Tamil releases so far in 2026.
The Tamil comedy‑horror sequel Mookuthi Amman 2 opened its first day in theatres with a modest collection, according to box‑office reports. The earnings placed the film at the second‑lowest opening among the five Tamil releases that have debuted in 2026 so far.
Industry analysts note that the film’s performance reflects a tepid response from audiences despite the star power of Nayanthara, who headlines the project. The opening figures are notably lower than her previous releases this year, but higher than the single lowest‑grossing debut among the current slate.
The modest start is expected to influence the film’s weekend trajectory, with distributors monitoring word‑of‑mouth and regional attendance trends closely. Further updates on the film’s cumulative earnings will be provided as more data becomes available.
