Non‑teaching employees at NAIPER in Mohali have been on a 21‑day sit‑in demanding promotion and career advancement after three decades without a raise.
Non‑teaching staff of the National Institute of Agricultural Post‑Harvest Management (NAIPER) in Mohali began a sit‑in protest on the institute's campus 21 days ago. The employees, who collectively have served the institute for about 30 years, say they have been repeatedly denied promotions and clear career‑progression pathways.
The protestors have set up a dharna near the administrative block, demanding that the management implement a transparent promotion policy and address their long‑standing grievances. Union representatives have approached the institute's director, but negotiations have so far yielded no concrete resolution.
