The Mizoram government has launched a generative AI mission to equip over 5,500 school students from 80 schools with AI competencies.
Mizoram’s education department announced the rollout of a generative artificial intelligence (Gen‑AI) mission aimed at upskilling more than 5,500 school‑going children. The programme will be implemented across 80 government‑run and aided schools, covering classes from primary to higher secondary levels.
The initiative seeks to introduce students to foundational AI concepts, practical coding tools and ethical considerations, preparing them for a technology‑driven job market. Training modules have been designed in collaboration with technology partners and will be delivered by certified trainers over the next academic year.
State officials said the mission aligns with Mizoram’s broader digital‑education strategy and will be monitored through periodic assessments to gauge skill acquisition and curriculum integration.
