The Meghalaya government will assess health challenges every six months as part of a strategy to tackle rising anaemia rates.

The state government announced that it will conduct a biannual review of health challenges to address the growing concern over anaemia among its population. The review will focus on identifying gaps in nutrition, healthcare delivery and monitoring of anaemia prevalence. Officials said the initiative aims to strengthen existing programmes and introduce targeted interventions. The first review is scheduled for the next quarter, with findings to be presented to the state health council. The move follows recent studies indicating higher anaemia rates in rural districts.
