The Ministry of External Affairs has issued a stern warning, urging Indian citizens to avoid enlisting in the Russian military, citing safety and legal concerns.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) today issued a formal notice to Indian nationals, strongly discouraging them from joining the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
The warning cites several factors, including the potential violation of Indian laws that prohibit dual military service and the lack of legal protection for Indians serving abroad.
Officials stressed that the Indian government does not endorse or facilitate enlistment in foreign militaries and that such actions could expose citizens to significant personal risk.
Citizens are advised to seek guidance from the Indian embassy in Moscow and to report any attempts to recruit them to the authorities.
