Security forces operating in Manipur have confiscated a significant cache of illegal firearms and narcotics during a coordinated multi‑district operation. The seizure took place across several districts, underscoring the government's focus on curbing illicit arms and drug trafficking in the state.
The operation, conducted by the state police and paramilitary units, involved a series of raids that uncovered a range of weapons, including rifles and ammunition, alongside various narcotics. The seized items are now under investigation to trace their source and distribution networks.
Officials have stated that the crackdown is part of a broader strategy to strengthen law and order in Manipur, which has long faced challenges related to insurgency and drug smuggling. The authorities are urging the public to report any suspicious activities related to arms or narcotics.
The operation is expected to disrupt the supply chains that have been facilitating the illegal trade of weapons and drugs in the region. Further details on the number of items seized and the identities of the suspects involved will be released as investigations continue.
