The Maharashtra government plans to roll out a digital system that will monitor the milk supply chain, aiming to reduce adulteration and improve consumer safety.

The state government announced that a digital tracking system for milk will soon be introduced across Maharashtra.
The system, developed in partnership with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), will record each step from collection to distribution.
By digitising the chain, authorities hope to curb the addition of harmful substances and ensure that only fresh, unadulterated milk reaches consumers.
Officials say the platform will also provide real‑time data to regulators and enable quicker action against non‑compliant suppliers.
The launch is expected to strengthen consumer confidence in the state’s dairy products and support local farmers.
