The Maharashtra government’s health awareness initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has completed a large‑scale outreach in colleges across the state. The programme, aimed at promoting preventive health practices among youth, organised a total of 393 interactive sessions in various higher‑education institutions.
According to the state health department, the sessions collectively reached 52,386 students, covering topics such as nutrition, mental well‑being, and lifestyle diseases. The outreach was conducted in both urban and rural colleges, ensuring a broad demographic representation.
Officials noted that the response from students and faculty was overwhelmingly positive, with many institutions requesting follow‑up workshops. The government plans to extend the campaign to additional colleges later in the year, reinforcing its commitment to youth health education.
