Madhya Pradesh Water Resources Officer Suspended Over Bribery Statement

The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta recently arrested two officials of the Water Resources Department in Panna for accepting a bribe of Rs 45,000. Following the incident, acting Engineer C.B. Ahirwar repeatedly commented on the case, describing the alleged practice as a matter of "happiness and love" where people would keep whatever was offered. His remarks were deemed inappropriate and unprofessional. Consequently, the state administration has suspended Ahirwar pending further inquiry. The suspension underscores the government's stance against any attempts to downplay corruption allegations.

The Lokayukta's action in Panna reflects ongoing efforts to curb petty corruption in state departments.
