Madhya Pradesh has recorded 33.1 inches of rain this monsoon, about 11% below the usual quota, and meteorologists forecast intensified rainfall after September 21.
The state of Madhya Pradesh has logged a cumulative monsoon rainfall of 33.1 inches so far, which is roughly 11.3% short of the expected seasonal quota. This shortfall places the region below the average rainfall benchmark for this period.
Up to September 20, the district weather offices have not issued any major weather alerts, indicating that the rainfall intensity has remained moderate despite the deficit. However, the Indian Meteorological Department has highlighted a potential surge in precipitation activity after September 21, citing favorable atmospheric conditions.
Officials warned that the upcoming spell of heavier showers could affect agricultural fields and water reservoirs, especially in areas that are already coping with the lower-than-normal rainfall. Residents are advised to stay updated with local bulletins as the monsoon draws to a close.
