On the final day of Pitru Paksha, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav arrived in Gaya, Bihar, and offered a ritual tarpan in the Falgu River before proceeding to the Mahabodhi Temple.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reached Gaya in Bihar on the concluding day of the Hindu Pitru Paksha observance. Accompanied by a small entourage, the CM performed a traditional tarpan ceremony on the banks of the Falgu River, reciting Vedic verses as part of the ancestral rites.
The ritual, conducted in accordance with Hindu customs, involved offering water and prayers to departed ancestors. Local officials and a few senior party members were present, but the event remained a personal religious observance rather than a political rally.
Following the tarpan, the chief minister is scheduled to visit the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to pay respects. The visit underscores the cultural ties between neighboring states and highlights the significance of religious pilgrimages during the Pitru Paksha period.
No further political announcements were made during the visit, and the CM is expected to return to Madhya Pradesh after completing his itinerary in Gaya.
