Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav marked Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birth anniversary by paying tribute to the leaders and outlining the state’s priorities of self‑reliance, Swadeshi initiatives and a drug‑free campaign.

On Gandhi Jayanti, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav gathered officials and supporters to honour Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The ceremony included a moment of silence followed by the CM’s address, in which he highlighted the enduring relevance of both leaders’ ideals.

Yadav reaffirmed the state government's commitment to the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" vision, emphasizing the promotion of Swadeshi products and indigenous industries across Madhya Pradesh. He said that fostering self‑reliance would not only boost the local economy but also align the state with national development goals.

The chief minister also announced an intensified drug‑free campaign, describing it as a top priority for the administration. He urged schools, colleges and community groups to collaborate with law‑enforcement agencies to curb substance abuse, especially among youth.

These statements come as the state prepares to roll out new schemes supporting local manufacturers and expanding rehabilitation centres, reflecting a broader strategy to combine economic growth with social welfare.

The event concluded with the distribution of commemorative literature on Gandhi and Shastri, reinforcing the message that their teachings continue to guide Madhya Pradesh’s policy direction.
