Madhya Pradesh reports a 0% dropout rate at the primary level for the 2025‑26 academic year, with 300,000 children returning to school after a 23‑year transformation of government schools.

Madhya Pradesh has announced that the dropout rate at the primary level has fallen to 0% for the 2025‑26 academic year, a milestone that marks a significant turnaround after more than two decades of educational challenges.

The state government says that 300,000 children who had previously left school have now returned, bringing the total number of enrolled students to record highs.

Officials attribute the success to a range of initiatives, including the provision of bicycles and scooters to improve access, distribution of laptops for digital learning, and scholarship schemes aimed at reducing economic barriers.

The zero-dropout figure is hailed as a landmark achievement for the state’s education sector, demonstrating the impact of sustained investment in infrastructure, technology, and student support programs.
