Effective 1 November, Karnataka will increase the retail price of milk by eight rupees per litre, as announced by the state dairy department.

The Karnataka dairy department has issued a directive to raise the retail price of milk by Rs 8 per litre, starting on 1 November. The increase applies to all milk sold through the state's regulated distribution network, including both fresh and packaged varieties. Officials said the revision reflects higher procurement costs from farmers and rising input prices for dairy processing.

The state government has instructed milk cooperatives and private vendors to implement the new tariff uniformly across districts. Consumers can expect the adjusted price on their next purchase, and the change will be reflected in the monthly billing of bulk milk supplies to institutions.

The price hike aims to ensure a sustainable margin for dairy farmers while maintaining supply stability. The department will monitor market response and may review the rates in the coming months if inflationary pressures persist.
