The Jammu and Kashmir administration has appointed liaison officers to coordinate the state's participation in the forthcoming Gulf Cooperation Council summit.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has recently designated a team of liaison officers to manage the state's engagement with the upcoming Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit. The appointments are aimed at ensuring smooth communication between J&K officials and the GCC member nations during the event.

The GCC summit, which convenes leaders from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, is scheduled for later this year. By assigning dedicated officers, the J&K administration seeks to streamline logistical arrangements, policy briefings and protocol matters for any delegation representing the union territory.

The liaison officers will act as primary points of contact for Gulf counterparts, facilitating discussions on trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchange. Their role also includes preparing briefing material for J&K officials and monitoring outcomes that could benefit the region's economic development.

A statement from the Chief Minister's office emphasized that the move reflects Jammu and Kashmir's intent to deepen ties with Gulf states and attract greater foreign investment. The appointed officers are expected to report directly to the state’s Department of External Affairs throughout the summit preparations.
