The Jammu and Kashmir BJP has criticised the National Conference government for scheduling a brief Assembly session, demanding that it be extended to a full month.
The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has strongly criticised the National Conference-led government over the decision to hold a short session of the Legislative Assembly. The opposition party accused the ruling dispensation of limiting the scope of legislative business and avoiding detailed discussion on key issues.
BJP leaders argued that a truncated session would not allow adequate time for elected representatives to raise matters of public importance. They insisted that the Assembly schedule should be expanded to cover a full month so that questions, debates and government replies could be conducted properly.
The party maintained that a longer session was essential for democratic accountability in the Union Territory, especially when several pressing concerns await legislative attention. The BJP has urged the administration to reconsider the duration and ensure a more comprehensive sitting of the House.
