Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir announced that the state's new industrial policy is nearing its final stage, pledging that past administrative lapses will not recur.

Jammu & Kashmir’s government is close to finalising a new industrial policy aimed at boosting manufacturing and attracting investment to the region.

Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Kumar Singh said the policy, which has been under review for several months, is now in its final stage and that the government will not repeat the administrative lapses that hampered earlier initiatives.

The policy outlines incentives such as tax breaks, simplified licensing procedures, and infrastructure support for new industrial projects, with a focus on sectors like textiles, food processing and renewable energy.

Once approved, the state plans to roll out the framework within the next few weeks, with a dedicated task force to oversee implementation and monitor compliance with the new guidelines.
