The Jharkhand Education Project Council has directed a statewide survey of all government schools to assess infrastructure and learning outcomes.

The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) issued an order on Monday to conduct a detailed survey of every government school across the state. The move aims to gather up‑to‑date data on school infrastructure, teacher availability, student enrollment and learning outcomes.

JEPC officials have tasked the state’s Directorate of Education and a team of external auditors to design the questionnaire and oversee field verification. The survey is slated to begin within two weeks and is expected to be completed by the end of the next quarter, with findings to be compiled in a comprehensive report for the state government.

Authorities say the exercise will help identify gaps in facilities, inform resource allocation and guide policy reforms under the ongoing efforts to improve the quality of public education in Jharkhand.
