The Rajasthan Election Commission will conduct two‑phase polls for 270 gram panchayats in eight panchayat samitis of Jhalawar district, electing representatives for 3,370 seats.

The state election authority has announced that the upcoming panchayat elections in Jhalawar district will be held in two stages. Voters from 270 gram panchayats, spread across eight panchayat samitis, will cast their ballots to fill a total of 3,370 elected positions.

The two‑phase schedule is intended to ensure smooth logistics and adequate security at each polling station. Election officials have mobilised staff and resources to manage voter registration, ballot distribution and vote counting in the rural constituencies.

These local body elections are a key component of Rajasthan's grassroots democratic framework, allowing residents to choose representatives who will oversee development projects, resource allocation and community welfare at the village level.

The outcome will shape the composition of village councils for the next five years, influencing decisions on infrastructure, water supply, education and health services in the district.

Authorities have urged eligible voters, estimated at over nine lakh, to participate actively, emphasizing that the elected panchayats will directly impact daily life in the region.
