Authorities in Mohali have directed the formation of a probe team to investigate reports of illegal building activity in Nayagaon.

The district administration in Mohali has taken note of allegations concerning unauthorised construction activities in the neighbourhood of Nayagaon. Local residents and civic officials raised concerns that several structures appear to have been erected without the requisite approvals or adherence to zoning regulations.

In response, senior officials issued a directive to constitute an inquiry team comprising engineers, town planners and senior police officers. The team is tasked with verifying the legality of the constructions, identifying any violations of building codes, and recommending corrective action.

The probe is expected to commence within the next few days, and the findings will be reported to the municipal council. Authorities have warned that any confirmed illegal structures could face demolition or penalties, underscoring the government's commitment to enforce urban planning norms.
