Indore Municipal Corp to Immerses 100+ Ganesh Idols at Jawahar Tekri Quarry Using Hydraulic Platform

The Indore Municipal Corporation will gather more than 100 Ganesh idols from across the city on Anant Chaturdashi and submerge them at Jawahar Tekri quarry on September 25‑26 using a specially built hydraulic platform.
Indore will observe the traditional immersion of Ganesh idols on Anant Chaturdashi, the concluding day of the month‑long Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. The municipal corporation has announced a city‑wide drive to collect idols from more than a hundred designated centres, ensuring a coordinated and environmentally responsible disposal.
The collected statues will be transported to Jawahar Tekri, a quarry on the outskirts of the city, where the immersion is scheduled for September 25 and 26. Officials have mapped the participating centres and set up collection points to streamline the process and avoid congestion in residential areas.
To address safety and respect for religious sentiments, a workshop team has engineered a hydraulic platform that will lower the idols into the quarry water column in a controlled manner. The technology is intended to prevent accidental damage, reduce manual handling risks, and maintain the sanctity of the ritual.
City authorities have urged devotees to cooperate with the collection schedule and have assured that the immersion will be conducted in accordance with municipal guidelines, aiming for a dignified conclusion to the festival while minimizing environmental impact.
