The Indore cyber‑crime division reported recovering roughly ₹6.79 crore for scam victims during the first ten months of the year and blocking over 10,000 fraudulent bank accounts, including the shutdown of 450 social‑media profiles.

Indore’s cyber‑crime branch said that between January and October it succeeded in retrieving about ₹6.79 crore for individuals duped by online fraud schemes. The recovered amount was transferred back to the victims after tracing the money through digital forensics and coordinating with banks.

In parallel, investigators have identified and blocked more than 10,000 counterfeit bank accounts that were created to siphon funds from unsuspecting users. The operation also led to the closure of 450 social‑media accounts that were being used to lure victims and spread phishing links.

Police officials highlighted that the crackdown is part of a broader effort to curb cyber‑related financial crimes in Madhya Pradesh, emphasizing the need for public vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious online activity.
