Low‑cost carrier IndiGo announced that it will commence scheduled services to Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, beginning 10 October.
IndiGo, India's largest low‑cost airline, said it will add Itanagar to its network with flights starting on 10 October. The service will connect the capital of Arunachal Pradesh with major hubs such as Delhi and Kolkata, enhancing connectivity for business and tourism.
The airline plans to operate a daily flight using its Airbus A320 fleet, offering competitive fares and a standard in‑flight experience. Seats are expected to be available for booking from early September through the airline's website and travel agents.
The move follows recent government initiatives to improve air links to the North‑East region, and officials in Itanagar have welcomed the addition, citing potential boost to local economy and easier access for tourists.
IndiGo has not disclosed the exact number of seats per flight, but the carrier typically configures its A320s with 180 seats. The new route is part of IndiGo's broader strategy to expand its presence in underserved markets across India.
