Ionic Wealth estimates that the combined assets under management of India’s Real Estate Investment Trusts and Infrastructure Investment Trusts could grow two to three times by 2030.
Ionic Wealth, a financial advisory firm, has projected that the assets under management (AUM) of India’s Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) could rise two to three times by 2030.
Currently, REITs and InvITs collectively manage roughly ₹1.5 trillion, according to the latest data from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
The growth forecast is driven by expanding infrastructure spending, a favourable regulatory framework, and increasing investor appetite for passive real‑estate and infrastructure exposure.
SEBI’s recent guidelines on listing and disclosure are expected to attract more institutional investors, while the government’s focus on large‑scale projects such as smart cities and green energy is likely to add depth to the asset base.
Market analysts suggest that the projected rise could boost the sector’s contribution to the broader economy and provide a more stable source of long‑term capital for development projects.
