The Indian Army set up a medical camp in Unakoti district of Tripura as part of Operation Samaritan, offering free health check‑ups and basic treatment to residents.

The Indian Army has organised a medical camp in Unakoti district of Tripura under its humanitarian initiative, Operation Samaritan. The camp aims to deliver primary healthcare services, including general health examinations, basic diagnostics and medication, to people living in the remote and underserved areas of the district.

Army medical personnel, supported by paramedical staff and volunteers, are conducting the outreach from a temporary facility set up in a local community hall. Residents have been invited to attend without any charge, and the camp also provides health education on preventive measures.

Operation Samaritan is part of the Army's broader effort to augment civilian health infrastructure in regions where medical facilities are scarce. Officials said the camp will operate for several days, after which a report on the number of beneficiaries and the types of services rendered will be submitted to the state health department.
