The Indian Air Force chief has indicated that the country may conclude the procurement of 114 Rafale fighter jets from France before the end of the current financial year.
The Indian Air Force chief announced that India may finalise the purchase of 114 Rafale fighter jets from France before the end of the current financial year.
The Rafale deal, which has been under negotiation for several years, is a key component of India’s defence upgrade strategy.
According to the chief, all contractual and financial arrangements are expected to be completed within the fiscal year, allowing the jets to enter service in time for upcoming training and deployment schedules.
The finalisation would strengthen India’s air power and reduce reliance on older aircraft models, enhancing operational readiness across the armed forces.
