Senior Russian naval officials arrived in India for high‑level talks aimed at deepening maritime cooperation between the two countries.
A senior Russian naval delegation landed in India this week, marking a high‑level visit intended to reinforce the maritime partnership between Moscow and New Delhi. The officials met with their Indian counterparts to discuss a range of cooperation areas, including joint exercises, crew exchanges and the sharing of naval technology.
Both sides emphasized the strategic importance of a stable Indo‑Pacific region and expressed a desire to expand joint training programmes. The talks also covered coordination on maritime security challenges such as piracy, illegal fishing and the safety of sea lanes.
The visit is part of a broader effort by the two nations to deepen defence ties, following recent agreements in other sectors. Officials from both navies indicated that the dialogue would continue through regular exchanges and future joint operations.
