India Consider Suryansh Shedge for New Zealand ODIs After Heroic Display in Australia

India’s cricket selectors have placed Suryansh Shedge under serious consideration for the one‑day international (ODI) series against New Zealand, following a notable performance in Australia. The young all‑rounder impressed with both bat and ball in the recent Australian tour, delivering a match‑turning innings that caught the attention of the coaching staff.

Shedge’s contribution in the Australian series – a quick‑fire half‑century and a couple of crucial wickets – demonstrated his ability to influence the game under pressure. His aggressive stroke play and disciplined bowling were highlighted as key factors that could add balance to the side.

The New Zealand ODIs are scheduled for early December, and team management is keen to inject fresh talent into the lineup. If selected, Shedge could be deployed as a middle‑order batsman who can also provide medium‑pace options, offering flexibility in the team’s strategy.

While no official squad announcement has been made, sources close to the board suggest that Shedge’s recent form will be a decisive factor in the final selection, signalling a potential breakthrough for the emerging player.
