India and Mauritius Discuss Expanding Bilateral Trade Ties

India and Mauritius are exploring ways to deepen their trade relationship, aiming to increase the flow of goods and services between the two nations.
Officials from New Delhi and Port Louis have begun a series of talks aimed at widening the scope of commerce between India and Mauritius. The discussions focus on removing barriers, improving market access and identifying new areas of cooperation.
Both sides indicated a willingness to examine a broad range of sectors, from manufacturing and services to tourism and renewable energy, to boost bilateral exchange.
The initiative is part of India’s larger strategy to strengthen economic ties across the Indian Ocean region, while Mauritius seeks to diversify its trade partners and attract more Indian investment.
Both governments have pledged to set up a joint working group that will draft concrete measures and monitor progress toward higher trade volumes.
