India and Italy held high‑level talks aimed at deepening cooperation to combat terrorism, organised crime and terror financing.
Senior officials from India and Italy met in a series of bilateral talks to explore ways of expanding their partnership against security threats. The discussions focused on enhancing coordination in counter‑terrorism operations, cracking down on organised crime networks, and curbing the flow of funds that finance extremist activities.
Both sides underscored the need for real‑time intelligence sharing, joint training programmes for law‑enforcement agencies, and stronger legal mechanisms for extradition and asset recovery. Existing frameworks such as the 2018 India‑Italy cooperation agreement were cited as a foundation for deeper engagement.
The officials agreed to set up a joint working group that will draft actionable plans and propose concrete measures within the next few months. They reiterated that a coordinated approach is essential to safeguard regional stability and protect citizens from evolving terrorist and criminal threats.
