The India Meteorological Department has warned of heavy showers across several districts in Karnataka, urging residents to take precautions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a heavy rain alert today for multiple districts in Karnataka, citing the likelihood of intense showers that could lead to localized flooding.
Officials advise residents in affected areas to stay indoors, secure loose outdoor items, and keep an eye on local weather updates. The alert is part of the IMD’s routine monitoring of the monsoon trough that has been moving across the western coast.
While the exact districts were not listed in the brief, the warning covers a broad swath of the state, including both coastal and inland regions. Authorities in local municipalities have urged commuters to use caution on roads that may become slick.
The IMD will continue to monitor rainfall intensity and issue further advisories if conditions worsen. Residents are encouraged to follow official channels for real‑time updates.
