IMD forecasts heavy rain in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather bulletin indicating that heavy rain is expected across the northeastern states of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura today. The forecast covers the entire day, with the greatest intensity likely during the afternoon and early evening hours.
Authorities in the four states have been advised to activate emergency response teams and monitor river levels closely. Local administrations are likely to issue advisories for residents in flood‑prone areas and to ensure that relief supplies are on standby.
Meteorologists note that the heavy rainfall is part of an active monsoon surge that has been affecting the region in recent weeks. The public is urged to stay updated through official channels, avoid low‑lying zones, and exercise caution while traveling on roads that may become slippery or water‑logged.
The IMD will continue to issue updates as the situation evolves, and any changes in intensity or additional warnings will be communicated promptly.
