Indian Air Force Chief Air Marshal A.P. Singh is scheduled to undertake his final flight in the indigenous Tejas fighter jet today. The sortie marks the end of his association with the aircraft before his retirement.

The flight is planned for today at an air base where the Tejas squadron is stationed. Air Marshal Singh, who has been the Chief of the Air Staff since September 2022, will pilot the aircraft as part of a routine training sortie. This will be his last flight in the Tejas before he demits office.

The Tejas is India's indigenously developed light combat aircraft, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. It has been inducted into the IAF fleet in recent years and is considered a key component of the force's modernization efforts.

Officials said the sortie is being conducted as a customary gesture to honor the outgoing chief's association with the aircraft. No further details about the flight path or duration have been disclosed publicly.
