The Himachal Pradesh Police have introduced the School CONNECT programme aimed at enhancing safety measures in schools across the state.
The Himachal Pradesh Police announced the launch of School CONNECT, a dedicated programme designed to improve safety standards in schools throughout the state. The initiative was unveiled in a ceremony attended by senior police officials and education department representatives, underscoring the government's focus on protecting students and staff.
School CONNECT will provide a framework for schools to conduct regular safety audits, develop emergency response protocols, and receive guidance on infrastructure improvements. Police officers will work closely with school administrators to identify potential hazards and train teachers and students in basic emergency procedures.
The programme also aims to foster a culture of vigilance by establishing direct communication channels between schools and the police, enabling rapid reporting of any security concerns. Officials said the initiative will be rolled out in phases, beginning with a pilot in selected districts before expanding statewide.
