The Haryana government introduced legislation aimed at limiting approval processes for micro, small and medium enterprises to a maximum of 15 days, ending prolonged waiting periods.
The state cabinet approved a business reform bill that mandates all clearances for micro, small and medium enterprises to be completed within 15 calendar days. The measure is intended to replace the existing system where approvals often stretched over several months, hampering the growth of small businesses.
Under the new rule, departments and agencies must either grant permission or issue a formal rejection within the stipulated period, with provisions for expedited review in cases of undue delay. The law also establishes a monitoring committee to track compliance and address grievances.
Officials say the faster turnaround is expected to boost investment, create jobs and make Haryana more competitive for entrepreneurs. The legislation will come into force from the first day of the next fiscal year, giving agencies a short transition window to align their procedures with the 15‑day mandate.
