The Haryana government introduced a new business legislation that mandates a maximum 15‑day turnaround for clearances, aiming to speed up operations for micro, small and medium enterprises.
The Haryana state cabinet approved a new business law designed to streamline the approval process for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Under the legislation, any government clearance that previously took weeks or months must now be completed within 15 calendar days.
The rule targets long‑standing bottlenecks in land, tax and licensing clearances that have hampered MSME growth across the state. Officials said the previous average waiting period stretched to several months, causing project delays and increased costs for entrepreneurs.
State officials expect the faster turnaround to improve the ease of doing business, attract investment and create jobs. The law also outlines penalties for departments that fail to meet the stipulated timeline, reinforcing accountability.
Implementation will begin after a brief transition period during which departments will upgrade their digital filing systems. The government has pledged regular monitoring to ensure compliance and to address any procedural gaps early on.
