The Haryana Human Rights Commission has directed that all government schools in the state undergo a structural audit to ensure safety and compliance.

The Haryana Human Rights Commission (HRHC) today issued an order mandating a comprehensive structural audit of every government school in the state.

The directive, issued under the Commission’s mandate to safeguard the rights and well‑being of children, requires that qualified engineers assess the buildings for safety, stability and compliance with building codes.

HRHC will appoint independent experts to conduct the inspections and will publish a report on the findings. The Commission has emphasized that the audit is a preventive measure aimed at protecting students and staff from potential hazards.

The order applies to all schools across Haryana, from primary to secondary institutions, and the Commission expects the audits to be completed within the next few months.

The government has pledged to act on the audit results and to undertake necessary repairs or renovations to address any identified deficiencies.
