The Gujarat government has reassigned ten IPS and SPS officers, promoting six to command the State Reserve Police Force and naming Mansi Meena as Assistant Superintendent of Police for the Viramgam division.
The state government of Gujarat issued an order transferring ten senior police officers from the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the State Police Service (SPS). Six of the transferred officers have been appointed as heads of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), taking charge of commandant posts across the state.
Among the reshuffle, Mansi Meena has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and assigned to the Viramgam division, a key jurisdiction in the Ahmedabad district.
Such administrative transfers are a routine part of the Home Department’s effort to optimise police deployment, strengthen law‑and‑order capabilities and address emerging security challenges in the region.
The Home Department’s circular did not disclose the specific reasons for each posting, but officials indicated that the moves aim to bring fresh leadership to critical policing units and improve operational efficiency.
The appointments are expected to take effect immediately, with the newly designated SRPF commandants and ASP Meena assuming their duties in the coming days.
