Gujarat authorities are planning to introduce a second tiger to pair with the state's only tiger. The initiative aims to create a double match for breeding and conservation purposes.
Gujarat currently has a single tiger residing in one of its wildlife facilities. Officials have said they are exploring the possibility of bringing another tiger to the facility to form a pair. The move is being considered to support breeding efforts and improve the genetic diversity of the captive tiger population. Discussions are underway with other zoos and wildlife centers to identify a suitable companion animal. No specific timeline or source for the second tiger has been disclosed yet.
