Gold, Silver and Cash Worth Millions Stolen from Two Women’s Bags on Bikaner‑Madurai Express

Bikaner police have opened a case after CCTV footage revealed that 65‑70 tola of gold, half a kilo of silver and about ₹7‑8 million in cash vanished from the bags of two female passengers on the Bikaner‑Madurai AC Weekly Express.
The incident occurred when two women alighted from the Bikaner‑Madurai AC Weekly Express and opened their luggage, only to discover that valuable items were missing. According to the police, the theft involved a substantial amount of jewellery and cash.
Investigators reported that the stolen goods included approximately 65‑70 tola of gold, half a kilogram of silver and cash estimated at ₹7‑8 million. The loss represents a significant financial blow to the victims, who were travelling for personal reasons.
Bikaner’s General Reserve Police (GRP) has registered a case and is reviewing CCTV recordings from the station and the train to identify the perpetrators. Officers have also appealed to the public for any information that could aid the investigation.
