Gauhati University has released the schedule for the Post Graduate Students' Union (PGSU) elections, with voting slated for September 30.
Gauhati University announced on Monday that the Post Graduate Students' Union (PGSU) elections will be held on September 30. The university’s registrar released a detailed timetable, outlining nomination filing, scrutiny and campaigning periods that lead up to the polling day.
The PGSU body represents postgraduate students across the university’s multiple faculties and plays a key role in voicing academic concerns, welfare issues and extracurricular activities. Candidates from various departments are expected to file their nominations within the next ten days.
University officials indicated that the election will be conducted under the supervision of the campus election committee to ensure a free and fair process. Voter lists have been prepared, and electronic voting machines will be deployed at designated polling stations on campus.
