Four people have died and another four were rushed to hospital after consuming suspected spurious liquor in Mokokchung, Nagaland, officials said.
Four residents of Mokokchung town in Nagaland were pronounced dead after ingesting liquor that authorities suspect was spurious. A further four individuals were admitted to the district hospital with symptoms of poisoning, according to local health officials.
Police and health department teams have launched an investigation to trace the source of the illicit brew. Preliminary tests are being conducted on the seized bottles, and officials have warned the public against consuming locally made alcohol that is not certified.
