Four dead as Delhi‑Darbhanga bus hits trailer on Gorakhpur Link Expressway

A bus plying between Delhi and Darbhanga crashed into a trailer on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, resulting in four fatalities, according to local authorities. Emergency services were dispatched promptly, and the site was cordoned off to facilitate rescue operations. Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision and to assess any possible violations of traffic rules. The expressway, a key arterial route in Uttar Pradesh, was temporarily closed to allow clearance of the wreckage and to ensure safety for other commuters. Officials have urged drivers to exercise caution on high‑speed corridors, especially where mixed traffic such as heavy trailers share the road.

The victims have been identified and their families are being informed, while the injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The incident underscores the growing concerns over road safety on India's expanding highway network. Authorities are expected to release a detailed report once the forensic analysis is completed.
